An idle game in the service of DeathA Risen champion in a battered gold helm, most of him lost to the dark.

Voryn Idle

You were pulled from the Well without a name.

Death has work, and no shortage of the dead to do it.

A dark-fantasy idle game. Pick a discipline; it works while you are gone, up to a day at a time.

The disciplines

The Terms

The Order states them once. Read them or do not — they hold either way.

  1. I

The work does not stop when you do

Six disciplines are open to you, and what is shown here is all of them. Set one going and it keeps going — while the tab is shut, while you sleep, while you are elsewhere. The Order credits 24 hours of absence. A Vigil Scroll raises that to 48.

  2. II

A Contract is answered three ways

Death signs them; you choose how they are answered. Investigate, and lean on a discipline — slow, and safe. Assault, and pay in health for every beat you miss. Bargain, and buy the ending outright in coin. Four beats decide how much of the purse comes home, and a Contract stops your training while you are in the field. You do not get to do both.

  3. III

    The shelf is finite

Your bank holds a fixed number of shelves, and every further one is bought with coin. When the last is full, the next thing you find is lost. The Order will post a notice. It will not post a replacement.

  4. IV

You are asked once what you are

The Rising happens at the start and never again. Three kinds carry something out of the Well with them. The fourth carries nothing, deliberately — and is let into rooms the others are not.

The kinds

What this is not

There is no market, no leaderboard, no clan hall, and nobody to chat with. One save, one champion, one ledger. That is the whole of the company you get.

No loot boxes. No battle pass. No meter draining while you are away, and no clock you may pay to skip. The game is free and finished at v1.0. Vigil Scrolls are the only thing sold outside an expansion, and expansions are bought once, later, at a price shown before you pay it.

Combat today is a level, a weapon, and what the weapon does to you. The deeper business of abilities and resistances is written down and not yet built. We would rather tell you now than let you find out.

Six disciplines, a starter set of Contracts, and a Verge small enough to learn. It is an honestly stocked world rather than a large one, and it grows.

The Well is open. It does not stay open out of kindness.
